Accuracy evidence, testing and field acceptance
Meter evidence has scope. A type test evaluates a design against defined requirements. Routine or production tests address manufactured units under stated procedures. Utility acceptance may sample or inspect delivered equipment. Field verification checks the installed measurement chain. One document should not be treated as proof outside its scope.

What is physically and operationally happening?
Meter evidence has scope. A type test evaluates a design against defined requirements. Routine or production tests address manufactured units under stated procedures. Utility acceptance may sample or inspect delivered equipment. Field verification checks the installed measurement chain. One document should not be treated as proof outside its scope.
Accuracy error is usually expressed relative to a reference under defined current, voltage, power factor and environmental conditions. A single pass point cannot describe behavior across the full operating range. The exact standard, class, model, serial population and test method must be recorded.
Design evidence
Standards and type tests establish performance of the design within tested scope.
Production evidence
Routine and lot controls link manufacturing output to required characteristics.
Acceptance
Inspection and testing verify delivered configuration and agreed criteria.
Field verification
Installation, wiring, ratios, seals and records are checked in service context.
