Ten 60 kW chargers are a site-infrastructure project.

The charger quotation is only one component. Service capacity, simultaneity, transformer loading, protection, cabling, civil works, software and operations can define the real project.

METRO POWER FIELD GUIDE

Ten chargers rated at 60 kW represent 600 kW of connected charger capacity before other site loads. Actual demand depends on controls and operating assumptions, but the headline makes one point clear: feasibility must be assessed at site level.

01

Start at the utility connection

Confirm existing service capacity, transformer rating and loading, demand profile, voltage, available fault data and the distribution utility’s coordination requirements. A charger layout cannot compensate for an inadequate upstream supply.

02

Design the operating model

Fleet dwell time, arrival pattern, required state of charge, simultaneous charging, future expansion and uptime targets determine whether static limits or dynamic load management are appropriate.

03

Price beyond hardware

A responsible CAPEX view includes chargers, transformer or service upgrades, panels, switchgear, protection, cabling, trenching, foundations, bollards, communications, software, testing, permits and contingency. The commercial model must also account for energy, demand charges, maintenance and payment operations.
